The Summit is a Long Way Home for Two Friends
I don’t know about you guys, but I have a secret crush on progressive house. You know those Swedish House Mafia songs that are ever present at festival season like “Don’t You Worry Child,” “One,” “Save The World” and others. Something about these tunes grips my heart and soul giving me a feeling of pure joy and happiness while I listen to them. Now that SHM are split though, that sound seems to have disappeared in lieu of Deep House and Trap. Don’t you worry though, Two Friends seem to have filled the void.
Matt Halper and Eli Sones formed this duo based out of Los Angeles in 2011 and have been quietly releasing some amazing music. I have been blown away by their productions. If you haven’t heard of them yet, you might want to get acquainted. I was introduced to them two months ago with their song “Our Names In Lights” featuring Breach The Summit and I have been hooked ever since.
Two Friends ft. Breach The Summit – Our Names In Lights
This duo seems to have perfected the hands-in-the-air progressive sound that is heard on plenty of mainstages across the world. Both of these have vocals built for crowds to sing along as the beat turns the stage into a huge dance floor.
“Long Way Home” seems to have the melody of “Don’t You Worry Child” as Breach The Summit sings beautiful lyrics over the beat. I dare you to not love this song – it is impossible. Although it’s not the newest sounding song I’ve heard, Two Friends have made a radio-friendly smash hit to appease us during the winter months while we wait with anticipation for this coming year’s festival season. Maybe we might even see them on stage sooner.
