Catch Your Dreams with Sokko & Lyons Last “Ride”
It’s the end of a duo and the beginning of a solo. Sokko & Lyons are an Oregon/LA based duo ending a 2 year partnership, and starting fresh as solos in 2016. The duo’s tracks have been played out by some of the best progressive acts out there like The Chainsmokers, Dzeko & Torres and MAKJ, while many remixes have been heard on Sirius XM’s BPM, Electric Area and Club Life stations. Sokko & Lyons may be splitting up but not before giving us their final original “Ride,” a progressive massive that is perfect for the New Year festival season. Check it out below.
Stravy, Sokko & Lyons – Ride
The driving drum kick, infectious vocals from Merchant and the MainStage drop keep the energy at 150% throughout the entire track, making this a perfect festival banger. In a genre that is difficult to not sound like everyone else, I found myself struggling to think of another act that has this sound. While this may be the last song that the duo will produce together, it certainly won’t be the last track we here from Sokko or Lyons, or Stravy. The final minute turns the progressive melody into a smashing trap drop that will have the entire crowd going wild.
In partnership with their last single, Sokko & Lyons also released a new remix of their track “Dreamcatcher” from Cherney. The vocal driven track gets a melodic remix, combining dubstep elements with the vocals. Check it out below.
Sokko & Lyons – Dreamcatcher (Cherney Remix)
I’m a sucker for melodic dubstep tracks, so I dove right into this one ready to imagine myself staring at a fantastic light show as I couldn’t help but feel the music. Although there isn’t a music video, all I had to do was close my eyes and I was transported to whatever I wanted to watch while listening. I could go on and on about this track but you know what they say, less is more.
Be sure to check out all the artists that I mentioned including Stravy, Sokko, Lyons and Cherney. Although Sokko & Lyons are splitting up, I can tell that both are worth watching to see where they go from here. Follow them on their social media accounts and make sure to check out Only The Beat for your latest electronic music news.
