Fresh Off Cazzette’s New EP – Genius

The first time I saw Cazzette throw-down a set was Paradiso 2013 at the Gorge in Washington State. The lineup was stacked with heavy-hitting, progressive-house names (Tiesto, Porter Robinson and Madeon to name a few), and much like the many other Paradiso’s I’ve attended, a few songs seemed to creep their way into almost every set possible on the main-stage. Cazzette’s “Beam Me Up was one of those tracks in the Summer of 2013. Fast forward to the summer of 2015 though, and here we are with a revamped, tech-house machine made up of the same Swedish-duo that gave us such huge progressive hits of the past. Off their newly released EP Desserts comes their latest single being pushed, “Genius“.

Alexander Björklund and Sebastian Furrer are the guys behind the cassette-headed creations that make up Desserts, and what they’ve become as of late definitely hits the trends right on the sweet-spot. Tech house and electro-dance styled music has only become bigger in the past couple of months, making the deep, tropical drums and auto-tuned lyrics on this track as well as the others a must-have in library.

Following up a number of hits since Cazzette was founded in 2011, which include “Beam Me Up” from their debut album Eject (2012), “Sleepless” (2014) and their single “Blind Heart” released back on the Spring of 2015; This is now their second single from the new EP, following the track “Together“, released back in May. I look forward to hearing the timeless Swedish DJ-duo continue to progress their sound into something fitting of the times, and I’m very much on board the tech-house band-wagon.
