Throwback Thursday: Crizzly – Big Booty Bitches

This week’s Throwback Thursday is shaking its way all the way back from 2011, but who can blame Crizzly’s “Big Booty Bitches?”  Big booties are timeless and the infatuation with their rotund duplicity spans eons, much less a couple of years.

“Big Booty Bitches” is a hard hitting “#crunkstep” track that samples what appears to be an equally hard hitting jam session between A Lost People, one of which had enough class to rock the khaki/white button down combo which so reminds us of family pictures on the beach, and some of the most kick ass dancing you’ve ever seen in front of a keyboard.

Chris Marshall, better known as Crizzly, is the man behind the sampling that makes this track so addicting. A San Antonio native and regular performer in the Austin/San Antonio area, Crizzly has been tearing it up in the lone star state for years.

In an interview with Vibe back in July 2013, Crizzly stated, “What you do [for Crunkstep], is you put on your gold shoes, you get your Sprayground backpack, you put the shades on, you hit the club up, you put your fist face on, and you just get hyphey. You put your two hands in the air and you just rage.” Crunkstep, for those of you who don’t know, is Crizzly’s personal blend of hip-hop, dubstep, loud music, and special blend of herbs and spices. Heavy on the herbs.

Crizzly doesn’t just do remixes though. He’s had a large amount of feedback from the hip-hop community, and wants to start creating legitimate beats for rappers (the hip-hop community seems to want him back.) When asked about the response to his remixes, Crizzly remarked, “I know Flocka has heard that one. And I know Lil Jon was playing it for awhile because he DJ’s. Lil Flip hit me up after that one remix and we did a string of shows together, and it was awesome because it’d be my last song, and he’d come out and sing the verse on the breakdown then would just go into his set.”
