#TBT: Solarstone’s Pure Mix of We Can’t Fly

B3BI received a request for a “sensual trance track” for this week’s Throwback Thursday and I couldn’t think of anything more perfect than Solarstone’s pure mix of Lemon’s We Can’t Fly.

Those of you lucky enough to attend Future Sound of Egypt 350 celebration in Buenos Aires, Argentina got to experience this track live just over a week ago during the special B3B set between Aly & Fila, Giuseppe Ottaviani, and Solarstone (WOW).

Back in 2012, Solarstone infused his #puretrance magic into Lemon’s synth-pop-soul rendition of We Can’t Fly; incorporating pounding percussion, slick sequencing and spiraling arpeggio lines. The heartfelt vocal performance by Lemon’s Roger Smith is highlighted flawlessly by Solarstone in the breakdown and takes my breath away every time.

Lemon – We Can’t Fly (Solarstone Pure Mix)

let me lay here,
I don’t wanna talk about it, anymore,
I’m so tired of this endless war of words
let me love you,
I don’t want to think about it, anymore,
I’m so tired of the endless back and forth,
and we can’t fly anymore,
we’ve fallen back to earth,
we always said we’d try, no matter how far or how wide, the distance, you and I,
we’d take to the sky, but now we can’t fly,
we can’t fly anymore,
we’ve fallen back to earth,
we always said we’d try, no matter how far or how wide, the distance, you and I,
we’d take to the sky, but now we can’t fly,
you and I, now we can’t fly

Do you love spinning trance? I recommend throwing this emotional powerhouse of a track in the middle of your set – it’s guaranteed to have your crowd screaming, “THE FEELS!” Then transition into something heavy and dark and really blow people’s minds…
