Simon Patterson debuted The One featuring Lucy Pullin in his A State of Trance 600 Den Bosch set and it left me absolutely speechless. This song will springboard you into a fantastic mood and put a smile on your face guaranteed. How could it not when it's the very definition of uplifting? From the soaring vocals to gorgeous melody with a hint of of filth (as Simon would say) all coalesce to make this truly a vocal trance anthem. It's the first of four tracks to be released by him on Armin Van Buuren's label Armind. Simon Patterson featuring Lucy Pullin - The One Out on Armind Monday, June 17th! If you're not familiar with Simon Patterson, get familiar because he's as good as they come. In fact, my favorite set of all time (and I have seen an absurd amount of sets in my lifetime: ranging from club sets to shows to massives) was Simon Patterson at Foundation Nightclub in Seattle this past March 30th. I hadn't heard a pure underground trance set until that day and it blew my mind, shook my soul and set my heart ablaze with love. His set told a story from start to finish, dragging the crowd deep into darkness and then releasing us into the light, all through the power of music. I was dumbfounded at how life changing his set was and I walked away so very grateful for the experience. I will forever get goosebumps thinking about that night. He is lethal on the decks and a genius in the studio. How he produces masterpieces containing harmonious elements of filth and beauty is truly a gift. His technical precision in his productions of trance infused with elements of techno and electronica is the stuff of legends. And with 11 consecutive #1s on Beatport he has one outstanding track record (pun intended!). He's the new host of 'In New Djs We Trust' - a psytrance radio show on the prestigious BBC Radio 1, where there will be four more shows this year. He also has his own radio show as well called Open Up, where he has an uncanny knack for finding wicked talent for the guest mixes featured on his show as well! All of this musical goodness can be enjoyed via his SoundCloud. Check out his latest episode of Open Up - 019: In New DJs We Trust on BBC Radio 1: The phenomenal 2013 remix of his track Thump: His massive collaboration with Jordan Suckley - Vanilla: His incredible set from ASOT 600 Den Bosch: And lastly ALL his originals and collaborations. So if you are starved for the trance of yesteryear, that underground sound and or 138 BPM and up look no further than your new savior Simon Patterson.
