I'm not saying they are new, merely in the intermediate stages of stardom Solis & Sean Truby are soon to become a household name! With releases getting more frequent and exposure getting hotter- the UK-based duo are making bigger and bigger waves!
When you think trance pairs who comes to mind? Above & Beyond, Aly & Fila, Kyau & Albert
and Myon & Shane 54
are probably your first 5 guesses. Am I right?
By the end of 2014, Solis & Sean Truby will make the list.
Their latest release "Blitz" (02-03 on Infrasonic)
The best word I can use to describe the sound of this track is BIG!
The synths are big, the bass is big and the kicks are big. The really catchy progression in the breakdown, which has a very "festival" feel to it, reminds me of Tritonal's better
Prog-House work (the festival mix of "Bullet That Saved Me"). Lots
and lots of reverb and bass for those needing serious uplifting. The main hook is too repetitive? Sit down, I like it.
"Blitz" has been featured on several international radio shows since its recent release and it just blows me away every time I hear it.
An upcoming release "Sectioned" (02-17 on Infrasonic)
Now "Sectioned" is a whole other story because this is one of very few tracks that I heard in podcast and absolutely HAD TO look it up. I remember it clear as day- Corsten's Countdown 344, almost exactly 12 minutes in. When I heard that bass riff, out of sheer hysteria I immediately started dancing in my car. I waited to hear the name of the masterminds behind this wonder from the man, Ferry Corsten
himself. Damn his sexy accent because I misunderstood the name of the artist and had a bitch of a time finding it. Luckily I stumbled upon "Blitz", thanks to Beatport and at once felt peace.
As for their career, according to their Facebook bio: "After their debut single ‘Empathy’ hit top spots on all major download sites including Beatport and Audiojelly, as well as featuring no fewer than four times on BBC Radio 1. The duo have gone from strength-to-strength, with their most sought after release ‘Loaded’ hitting dizzy heights in 2011."
In the later part of 2011 they released a remix of "Elektra" by Super8 & Tab
(another awesome duo) which landed them regular play across several locations of ASOT 600. Their ascent seems to have been steady and strong.
Don't forget to check out 'Electronic Audio Vol. 2' out soon on Infrasonic. I wish them all the luck I can for this upcoming year!
