Those of you trance-heads who are in-the-know might have heard this song for the first time ages
ago in one of BT
's live sets. I think perhaps the first time I heard it was in BT's live set from ASOT 600 in Guatemala back in March of 2013, but I'm not even sure if that was its true debut. In any event, the trimmed recording of that track from this set was the only living version of this song that any BT fan could get their hands on from that date forward. The audio quality of said recording was an atrocity, but it was all I had and I played it on endless repeat for days. Then I got to see BT myself in May of that year and finally got to hear it in full quality twice
because he did two separate 90 minute sets that night and incorporated it into both. I was in heaven.
To this date, the only way that an obsessive fan like me could get my ears on a high fidelity play-through of this song was to catch BT live, and this last time I saw him at Paradiso Festival 2014
was literally only the 5th time I'd ever heard it. I removed my earplugs at the mainstage at The Gorge for just 4 minutes, just to soak in every single click and whirr ringing off the hillsides and to hear the very stones echoing back those thunderous bass tones.
Now, it's finally here.
On August 11th we finally get our delayed gratification with the upcoming release of BT and Christian Burns' newest collaboration
"Paralyzed" on Enhanced Recordings. I couldn't be more
thrilled about this news.
