Elliphant – Revolusion (ƱZ Remix)
ƱZ never disappoints with “Trap Shit V17/20,” out now on iTunes. Never honoring these tracks with legitimate titles, these bastards get numbered instead of named. Which makes it even harder harder to decide which one you like the most.
ƱZ put up this remix of “Revolusion,” by Elliphant for free download last week. Elliphant is the stage name of Swedish pop star Ellinor Olovsdotte, but ƱZ has transformed this pop track into a bumping trap banger.
The mysterious ƱZ came up on the Soundcloud scene about 2 years ago, with the amazing ŤɌ∆Ҏ ᶊῌῗ† series. His real identity still remains a mystery. He’s “The Banksy of the music world.” This indecisive investigation into his true identity points fingers at artists such as Skrillex, DJ Troubl, and Justin Martin, but eventually comes out empty handed.
ƱZ’s lack of a real identity hasn’t hindered his career. If anything, it has launched him as far into the spotlight as you can throw a faceless man. With huge support from DJ’s worldwide (the likes of Diplo, Flosstradamus, Skrillex, Toddla T, Baauer, and Craze to name a few), UZ’s debut EP was released on Jeffree’s, a sub-label to Mad Decent. Diplo said in a statement, “Our extension of the label, Jeffree’s, is the best new music– the most progressive, the most amazing, the deepest underground and subterranean sounds from the Earth’s crust; the best sounds available and it’s free.”
“UZ tunes are drunken energy, sub bass, and cartoon horn stabs that make my stomach feel weird and my feet shuffle,” Diplo also writes. While a nothing less than adequate description of the enigmatic ƱZ, it leaves out that ƱZ obviously has some intense musical talent, and while his music consists mainly of trap bangers, they don’t ever fall short in piquing your interest.
Raw and powerful, but with a laid back tempo, UZ gives listeners a chance to slow down without losing momentum.
