Mr Carmack Keeps Cranking Out Quality Trap Music
Mr Carmack is yet another member of the Mad Decent label who has taken the music scene by storm. His blended style of hip hop and dance music has garnered a hefty following for Aaron Carmack, Mr Carmack’s full name. As is to be expected from any artist deserving of the Mad Decent label, he’s been cranking out tracks almost as quick as we crank out our content. Almost.
His current rise to fame started with the self-released Bang, Vol 3 followed by the Life/Death EP, which both achieved the #1 best selling album on Bandcamp consecutively. In April 2013, he released “Birth Control,” and “Hopscotch,” an eclectic mix of hand claps, squeaky beats, and Neptune-esque synths, on our Jeffree’s imprint. Supported by the likes of RL Grime, GTA, Plastician, Djemba Djemba, S Type, and Elair Fifi, as well as appearances on BBC Radio 1, Mr. Carmack’s global domination has only just begun.
Last week, Carmack put out a slew of tracks on his Soundcloud. This one, titled “this morning was funny,” has garnered the most plays. It isn’t hard to see why. The instruments in the song alone are pretty crazy. The next most played track is a little different.”chill n with girlfriend,” isn’t a dance banger, but a more funky, quick to change it up track. It’s more fitting for a glitch hop set than a night in the trap.
You can expect to hear lots of good things from the Carmack in the future. His rise to the top has just begun and it has yet to be known what the larger impact of his splash is going to encompass. If you’re lucky this year, you might be able to see him before the rest of the world finds out about the awesome that is he and buys up all the tickets to his shows. If you live in Brooklyn then you’ve won the luck of the draw. Mr. Carmack will be at Output with Djemba Djemba. You can check out the rest of his concerts for this year here.
