Branchez Awakens Sleepy Tom’s “Pusher”

Sleepy Tom – Pusher feat. Anna Lunoe (Branchez Remix)

I am truly excited about this track. There is plenty of DJ/producer star-power laying out the foundation of this Sleepy Tom original for some amazing remixes, but out of the many that I’ve come across, this one is most unique. I say this, because what is an amazing melodic and up-lifiting house hit for the summer, finally has the touch of one of the talented up-and-coming trap producers: Branchez.

Sleepy Tom and Anna Lunoe‘s collaboration “Pusher” was a track I got psyched about from the get-go, and since it’s release, has seen a fair share of remixes from artists like Jesse Slayter and Costello. None give this song the true tropical fun sound that Branchez gives the track, which is exciting to see since the list of new Branchez works have slowed since his remix of Rihanna‘s hit single “Stay”.

This remix is exactly what Branchez desperately needs to keep giving the trap world, which is a much better and rhythmic drum kit that doesn’t just consume your ears with high pitched drops and huge overwhelming bass. Not that I’m saying that sound isn’t fun, but the trap world is quickly becoming diluted with rushed-remix jobs. Branchez shows us what made him so great in the first place, with versatile, sub-bass drops to bring melody back to trap.

Branchez has done guest mixes on BBC Radio1 (Diplo & Friends, Toddla T Show), TripleJ Radio and SiriusXM – Shade45 (Sway In The Morning). He’s also taken the top slot on Hype Machine numerous times, so it’s no surprise to see such a good remix from him. However the trap world is growing stronger and desperate for some of the top DJ’s and producers to really put the genre over the top. Lets hope this is the start of that consistency the genre needs from Branchez going into the summer and fall with more dope works like this one.
