Grabbitz’s Album Grows “Better With Time”
Welcome to Alternative Dance Music. After Grabbitz turned heads with his “Silent Picture” vocal edit and a continuous supply of unique releases including his Friends EP on Monstercat, Nick Chiari is back with his debut album, Better With Time. Meant to be listened from first track to last, Grabbitz breaks through the barrier of genres, transforming the status quo of albums nowadays. Listen below.
Grabbitz – Better With Time
Nick Chiari shatters all expectations with “Hope,” a chilling classical arrangement of piano and strings. Each track flows into the next as title track “Better With Time” dives into a drum step beat with Grabbitz on lead vocals. The production quality of this piece is top notch as Nick flips the track between a drum step beat and a soft trap drop, keeping the thought-provoking lyrics at the forefront.
“Make You Mine” in my opinion is the most Alternative sounding track on the album with a vibe reminding me of a heavier Death Cab for Cutie. I can’t speak enough about the vocal quality in this track… and that electronic riff traveling between each headphone. Whew, this track is on repeat forever.
“Intermission” gives us a vocal breather incorporating a technical prowess that I haven’t heard in a while. The drum kit beat is out of this world. Grabbitz continues the album with the heaviest song on the album “Get Out.” What sounds like a cry for help from the vocals is received by an alternative/drum step beat resembling “Better With Time.”
“Get Out” swiftly moves into the most listened to song of the album “Float Away” and for good reason. Beautiful vocals from Nick, an infectious melody with chopped synthesizers and amazing composition make this the iconic track from the album. This is the track we have all wanted/needed to hear.
Grabbitz closes out his debut album with “Cold” featuring Layne. No, it’s not a remix of Alison Wonderland but it definitely has that vibe to it. Layne’s and Grabbitz’s vocals fit perfectly with the chill trap melody making this a perfect track for a night of star gazing.
Grabbitz continues to improve on the production quality with each release and Better With Time is a brilliant piece of work that will be a shining star for his and Monstercat’s discography. Trust me on this, you are going to want this album. You can purchase it now from iTunes, Beatport and Bandcamp along with streaming it from SoundCloud, Spotify and YouTube.
