[OTB Premiere] – CHRISCROSS “Hours”

Song production is its own form of art. Sometimes one track starts as something but becomes another. This is exactly what happened with “Hours” by CHRISCROSS. Only The Beat is proud to premiere the New Orleans duo debut track. Listen to “Hours” below.

After being introduced to them at Lights All Night this past year, I was anxious to hear more from the duo. Drawing inspiration from their artistic backgrounds and iconic producer Porter Robinson, the duo has worked tirelessly on this original, logging over 300 hours in the studio perfecting it.

“What started as an experimental beat for a friend to rap on eventually turned into the track that created an entirely new direction for CHRISCROSS.”

The opening sounds remind me of looking at the night sky basking in the magnitude of the universe. The drop is indescribable. The word explosion comes to mind, but it doesn’t quite fit. “Hours” defies description, and that’s a good thing.

You may or may not have heard of CHRISCROSS yet, but if you like being an early adopter, this is one duo you want to keep an eye on. Not only is the track impressing me, it also has caught the eye of The Chainsmokers themselves as they commented on the preview on Instagram.

Music has always been a passion of mine, being the kid trying to find the latest music to listen to. In college, I was exposed to Emalkay's "When I Look At You" and EDM quickly became my favorite genre. I hope to show people through writing what EDM has done to me and hope I can help people discover the beauty that is EDM.
