Rudimental, Gorgon City, Jessie Andrews, Kidnap Kid. Anyone who pays attention to dance music should know at least one if not all those names, but do you know the origins of them? It's Black Butter Records - a UK record label started back in 2010 to avert the constraints of corporate labels. Today, Black Butter boasts a roster of some of dance music's hand-picked rising stars that all have an aura of "cool" about them. Back at the beginning of April, the UK team partnered with the creative production company MATTE to flip Bowery Bank Building on its head with their event, MATTE Presents: A Party.
Bringing in the label's most astute, Black Butter made sure all of their friends were there to a formulate this unique party with Kidnap Kid, The Gaslamp Killer, Jessie Andrews, My Nu Leng, Wayward, KITTENS, and Cara Stricker taking their positions behind the decks throughout the night. With a recap video finally surfacing, Black Butter settles a dark but elite aura by placing a black and white filter over the video, and fans are able to see exactly how a Black Butter Records party goes down in style.
